Imagine walking around in a huge city in China. Now, go on the lookout for your Chinese friend that invited you to stay over. Kinda tough right!
Generally speaking, elements that do not act similarly shall not appear similarly. This is straight forward but easy to neglect. The simplest example are text links that appear with the overall text. Color is a powerful tool. Instead of coloring buttons at the top right in the same way, make the most important stand out, e.g. "Go to Shop", "Download my app". You can even use layout and proposition to make clear distinctions. If you want to indicate that a specific button does not relate to an image but rather to a text, increase the distance between button and image and narrow the distance between text and image.
