Today we will talk about a expert heuristic that will help you decide in one blink of an eye whether a visual screen design will work on mobile or not. In fact, I have seen dozens of examples on behance or coroflot where the designer could have benefited by this simple rule.
Now, imagine looking at a design on a desktop monitor or laptop, the heuristic goes as follows:
When it looks toooo big, it’s about right [for mobile].
The reason for this is simple. Designers work with huge monitors on which they tend to scale up miniature screens to a monitors' size. Frankly, design elements tend to appear huge and will be scaled down (within the screen design).
