#11 Know the customer

Imagine you are out on the street on your own trying to sell your widget in the center of your city. You go for every type of potential customer that crosses your way whereby you need to adapt your sales approach constantly. You have to do this based on very limited information because the next customer is likely to be from a different from the previous one.

Instead of broadcasting your sales pitch to everyone that is out there know the type of customer to which your widget appeals to the most. Find out as much as you can about exactly this type of person/customer. Iterate your product offering accordingly and then cater your sales approach the same way. In fact, you would be going home empty-handed because you sold all your aw'sm widgets that day.
